With expertise, discipline and care, we help children build fitness, focus and the courage to face challenges.

From a first taste of taekwondo to advanced technique and competition goals, classes are arranged by age and ability.

Sharpens technique, reaction and goal-setting as a bridge to competitive training.
A weekend class arranged by age and level. Call us or book a trial to learn more.
Refines advanced sparring skills and strengthens body and mind for the push to black belt.
Class days, times and names sync from the academy timetable. Please confirm the actual arrangement with us.
What we teach reaches beyond the mat: discipline, responsibility, confidence and courage.

From the first greeting at the door, courtesy and responsibility are part of training.
Attendance, remaining classes and belt progress are recorded clearly, so every effort is seen.
Age-appropriate challenges teach persistence and the courage to face difficulty.
For forty-five years Hsiung Chi has accompanied generations of students with solid training, character education and a competitive legacy, and continues to develop athletes who reach the international stage.

In 1981 Song Ching-Hung founded Hsiung Chi Taekwondo Academy in Shulin. He went on to coach Taiwan’s national team at three Olympic Games, and the gold medals his athletes won internationally earned him the name “gold-medal coach”. Yet in forty-five years what he has cared about most is never the medals on the wall, but who his students become after they leave the mat.
“What matters most in taekwondo is not technique — it is discipline.” In forty-five years of teaching, that is the line he has repeated most.
The first thing children learn at Hsiung Chi is to bow and respect their opponent — begin with courtesy, end with courtesy. Next comes focus: repeating one movement until it is right, eyes on the coach; carried back to the classroom and home, that focus is what lets a child sit still and listen. Then self-control. A kick that goes out must also come back — strength, like emotion, belongs in the right place. He often says: to beat others, first beat yourself; the real opponent is who you were yesterday. Finally, perseverance. A belt does not change colour because you want it to; the child must train the required classes and step onto the testing floor alone. When he ties on the next belt with his own hands, the child knows effort is visible. What he has believed for forty-five years is simple: raise children who know the rules, can sit still and can push through — and results follow.
Learning isn’t a one-off result — it’s a journey you can track, review and build on.
A trial class shows us your child’s interests, fitness and the right class.
Etiquette, stance, coordination and basic movements lay the right foundation.
Classes add up; together with coach assessments, students move toward the next belt.
Develop poomsae, sparring, fitness or competition experience in your own direction.
From parents and children on the mat together to kids standing up on their own — what happens here every day.
Hsiung Chi pioneered parent–child training: train together, sweat together, test together. The kick your child most wants to show you happens with you on the mat.
This height is not talent; it is built week after week by planting the base foot and opening the hips. Her parents are watching from the mat — at Hsiung Chi, every step forward is seen.
Every stance and every retraction is demonstrated at the child’s eye level — not shouted as a command.
Age-grouped classes with hurdles, target kicks and fitness circuits — among friends, kids naturally want one more rep.
Full protective gear and a coach at their side: children learn to attack within safe rules — and to control their power.
Board breaks, the test, the belt ceremony — every promotion is earned by the child, and the master ties the belt on personally.
Lining up together before class, laughing together after. Many kids stay because someone here is waiting to see them.
From afraid to step up to raising a hand first — change often starts when someone truly sees them.
From the air they breathe to the gear they wear and the mats under their feet, every piece of equipment is selected for safety and growth.
Room to kick and run, with competition-grade cushioned mats across the whole floor — big movements, no worries.
The air is purified throughout training. Every deep breath your child takes here matters as much as the training itself.
Sparring is always done with face-shield head gear, so the head and face are fully protected and kids can train for real.
Fitness equipment for the upper body and core that turns conditioning into the part of class kids look forward to.
Rolls and jumps are practised on professional air mats — soft landings, protected joints, and the courage to try more.
Light-based drills train reaction and agility, with data that shows measurable progress.
“At first my child didn’t dare step onto the mat; now he gets ready for class on his own. The clearest change is in his focus and confidence.”
“The coaches are patient and the classes have rules and fun. At home she has started lining up, greeting people and finishing her own tasks.”
“Every stage has a clear goal. I know what I still need to work on, and training is no longer just getting through the moves.”
Yes. The coach first looks at your child’s age and fitness, then arranges suitable beginner content and a class.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and a water bottle. A uniform can be arranged after you enroll.
It depends on the space and the class that day — please check with the academy when you book.
Fill in the trial form first; we will recommend a class based on age, goals and the times you can attend.
Just let the academy know — no paperwork needed. Class-count plans only deduct a class when your child actually attends, so an absence never costs a remaining class. Want to change your regular class time? Talk to us anytime.
Begin with one trial class: the coach learns what your child needs, and your child experiences the class first-hand.
